  • Improves Circulation: Releases scar tightness, enhancing blood flow and lymph drainage to support the body’s healing processes.

What is Cesarean Scar Release Therapy?

Scar release therapy is an FDA approved, non-invasive therapy that uses microcurrent point stimulation (MPS) to target and treat pain, inflammation, and scar tissue. The therapy works by delivering gentle electrical pulses to specific areas of the body, promoting circulation, reducing pain, and helping to break down scar tissue.

C-section scars, while a testament to the birth of your child, can sometimes be a source of discomfort, restricted mobility, and even emotional distress. Scar tissue can adhere to underlying muscles and fascia, leading to pain and stiffness in the abdomen and lower back. Over time, these issues can affect your overall well-being and quality of life.

How does it work?

For this therapy, we use the Dolphin Neurostim™ which uses Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) therapy to effectively help release the scar and decrease cesarean section pain. Simultaneous application of a safe low level electrical impulse is applied to each side of the cesarean scar to relax and fade scar tissue, which can hinder muscles and fascia function and cause pain. This technology is approved by Health Canada and the FDA and you should be able to see and feel a significant change in the scar during your first appointment.

Chiropractic for Kids

It is very common for kids to have knocks and falls throughout their rough and tumble years.

It is no doubt that kids are very resilient, however, the “bounce-back” resilience exhibited by children can sometimes hide subtle damage that can lead to further issues and poor postural function overtime. “As the branch bends, so grows the tree,” each seemingly insignificant slip and fall adds up.

Another physical stressor that can affect kids is posture. Poor posture can not only cause back and neck pain but it can also adversely affect our well-being, our overall mood and ability to concentrate. Even repetitive or prolonged postures while watching television and playing computer games can impact a developing spine.

Regular chiropractic visits can help to strengthen postural muscles and allow the body the opportunity to restore balance

Infant Chiropractic

Being born is tough work for both mothers and babies. There are a lot of pressures and forces being exerted onto your baby during their journey into the world. Birth in its many different forms can be quite traumatic. While each birth is unique, there is always a chance that the baby suffers some sort of strain due to a variety of reasons. Even the most natural births can result in trauma that goes undetected.

What can cause birth trauma in infants?

  1. Very short labour

  2. Very long labour

  3. The use of Pitocin to strengthen/induce uterine contractions

  4. Restricted maternal birthing positions

  5. Pulling or twisting on the head to deliver the infant’s body

  6. The use of forceps or vacuum extraction

Left uncorrected, this trauma can impact a baby’s development. This can cause many health challenges later in life that could easily have been prevented.

Nursing difficulties, sleep disturbances, and inability to be soothed and settled are all potential signs of musculoskeletal stress in infants.

Although all infants should be checked right after birth, here are just three clear indicators to bring your little in for a chiropractic visit:

  1. Noticing a head tilt to one side, even after you straighten it.

  2. Difficulty or pain with breastfeeding

  3. Reflux

  4. Difficulty settling down, irritable, colic

Chiropractic care can be very beneficial in helping babies recover from these traumas. Dr. Sims and Dr. Edgar are members of the International Chiropractic Paediatric Association (ICPA) and has taken advanced courses on specific techniques for infant care, involving very specific, gentle adjustments. We’re here to help!
